Compliments of the Seasons!!!
It’s Page 8 of the Dear Designer blog.
Let’s talk about TAKING A BREAK!
Dear Designer,
It’s tempting, isn’t it? To squeeze in one more screen, tweak that wireframe or send out that survey. After all, “everyone else is on a break,” so responses might trickle in faster 🥹 . But let me remind you — your creativity needs rest too 🫠 . Burnout is real, and it doesn’t lead to better design. What does? Rest.
Taking a break isn’t slacking off; it’s a creative reset. Step away from your work — whether it’s to read a book, take a walk, indulging in a hobby, or simply spending time with loved ones, especially during this season. Often, the best solutions emerge when our minds aren’t laser-focused on the problem but while living our lives.
So, here’s my challenge to you this season:
✨ Give yourself the permission to Pause. Step away from the screen.✨ Do something you enjoy — something entirely unrelated to work.✨ Let your mind wander and recharge.
When you return, you’ll bring sharper insights, better ideas, and a clearer sense of purpose to your work 💯 .
Dear Designer, you can’t pour from an empty cup. Rest. Recharge. Refresh. And return stronger! 💪
Know someone who’s guilty of working through breaks 😜 ? Tag them and remind them to take a breather!
